Glico Group donates building materials to Police

Glico Group, an insurance company, has presented building materials estimated to cost GH¢8,000 to the Ashanti Police Command, in support of a proposed Conference Hall for the police administration.

The donation comprised GH¢1,000 cash and building materials -100 bags of cement and one tonne each of 16mm and 20mm iron rods.

Nana Efua Rockson, Head Corporate Affairs of Glico Group, explained at the presentation that the gesture follows an appeal by the police administration for assistance to build a Conference Hall where administrative activities, including decision making, will take place.

According her, the group has been in operation in the region for 27 years, and observed that insurance is when the people live in peace and are convinced that the insurance was benefiting them through the protection of residents by the police.

She expressed the hope that the hall will serve as a place where great decisions are going to be taken, and urged corporate bodies to also help the police in delivering their core mandate of protecting lives and properties.

DCOP Kofi Boakye, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, who received the items on behalf of the Regional Command, commended the Glico Group for the kind gesture, and said the construction of the 300 capacity Conference Hall, which will also serve as an operation rooms, would commence soon.

The police boss appealed to other companies and corporate bodies to follow the shining example of the Glico Group.
