A fresh nationwide survey by Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that President John Dramani Mahama’s approval ratings, though still high, have seen a modest dip in recent months.

The poll, conducted between July and September 2025, shows that public approval of the president’s performance has fallen from 73% to 67% — a six-point drop. Meanwhile, 22% of respondents expressed disapproval, and 11% withheld judgment, leaving him with a net approval score of +45%.

Despite the decline, the report underscores a historic milestone: for the first time, every region of Ghana registered majority approval of the president’s leadership.

The survey also measured public sentiment on the country’s direction. Confidence levels slipped from 71% in July to 66% in September, suggesting that while most Ghanaians still feel the nation is on the right path, optimism has softened.

On the government’s overall performance, 18% of voters rated it as excellent, 54% as good or very good, 12% as average, and 16% as poor or very poor — a five-point increase in negative ratings compared to the July survey.

Global InfoAnalytics concluded that President Mahama’s administration remains in strong standing nationwide, but the slight downturn signals heightened voter scrutiny and expectations as his government advances its agenda.
