Lawyer John Owusu Agyeman, a legal practitioner and leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it is good to make comparisons between the NDC and other parties that have ruled this country, especially the New Patriotic Party.

The lawyer tried to make a comparison between NDC youth and NPP youth regarding violence during their respective regimes in a telephone on-air interview on Focus fm, a radio station based on the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

The host tried to dissuade him from making such comparisons since it did not justify the action of the NDC youth in recent times, he emphasized that though it might not justify their action, it was necessary that such comparisons be made since earlier occurrences during the NPP regime served as a fertile ground for such actions in the country and the NDC youth have consequently learnt this behavior from their counterparts in the New Patriotic Party. he says nothing was done to the NPP youth who misbehaved during the party’s rule but the Professor Mills led NDC is putting measures in place to ensure that criminals face the full rigours of the law, adding that very soon crimes committed under the guise of being party foot soldier would be a thing of the past. The legal practitioner, who is also a member of the National Executive Committee of the NDC, urged the youth to be patient since the government promised them jobs within a regime of four years and not one year and gave the assurance that government will leave up to all its campaign promises.
