National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC), Dr. Kwabena Adjei has threatened to sue the Daily Guide Newspaper for publishing a story that seek to damage his image.
This follows a publication in yesterday’s edition of the newspaper linking Dr. Kwabena Adjei to comments allegedly made by him to the effect that rumours about President Mills ill health were being spread by senior members of the NDC and not members of the opposition NPP, contrary to claims by members of the government communications team and other government officials.
However, the NDC chairman in an interview with GOLDNEWS on Friday insisted that he has made no such comments.
He noted: ‘’for about six to ten months or twelve months I have not spoken to any person from the media, I have not granted any interview, about the state of my president’s health. I have not attributed it to anybody, I don’t time for that vain talks, I don’t particularly like rumors, and I say what I want to say I’m bold to say it’’.
''The publication is very wicked, is very mischievous and it’s an attempt to cover up the rumor that originated from the NPP, and I may need to take steps to find the person who said I granted him the interview, where I granted him the interview, the time that I granted him the interview, and why and what motivated me to grant him the interview’’.
''I am referring the matter to my lawyers. It is becoming too much, a whole group of people their vocation is to destroy the very country that they live in, to destroy its leaders just for the sake of political power, and when they do something and it backfires, they tie it to somebody from my party’’, he said.
He is wondering why certain people will concoct stories to destroy others.
''Haven’t people gone to church or gone to the mosque before, haven’t they experienced some moral training from their homes, haven’t they gone to school where principles of morality and political morality are taught them?, he quizzed.
'' People just go and concoct stories and put it in the month of an innocent person, that is wicked’’.
'' God will visit his anger on those people who have come to steal, maim and to destroy.
