The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, paid a one-week working visit to the party’s branch in China during which he participated in the 2011 National General Meeting of NPP-China which was held in Guangzhou in July 2011. Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie said, NPP losing the 2008 was a blessing in disguise.

According to him, it has given Ghanaians the opportunity to see the differences between the NPP administration and the incompetence of the NDC. He further stated that, the NDC will lose the 2012 elections not because of the infighting within their party but simply because Ghanaians are suffering so much and will not give them any other chance to continue messing up with the economy. He said President Mills is going round pretending to be a Christian whiles he is not, just because he knows that most Ghanaians are Christians. He questioned why he is silent when his appointees insult people and even go further to promote them as a way of congratulating them for insulting their opponents. To him, it is a hypocritical attitude and wish Ghanaians, especially the Christians will prove to President Mills that they cannot be taken for a ride and he cannot play on their religious belief just to get their sympathy.

Sir John however admonished the NPP gathering not to be complacent as it was in 2008, but rather to work hard to ensure that, the party comes back to power. He therefore call on all the party members in China to do their best to get involved to bring NPP back to power in 2012 and help save Ghanaians from the sufferings they are going through now.

The Chairman of NPP-China, Mr Charles Dwamena, on his part spoke about how the mismanagement of the Ghanaian economy is affecting the business of Ghanaians especially those in shipping and trading business in China and called on all NPP sympathisers in China to get on aboard in ensuring that the NPP wins elections 2012. He promised NPP-China will do its best, as one of the international branches of the party, to ensure that the good people of Ghana enjoy good governance under Nana Akuffo-Addo come 2013.

Other speakers at the meeting included the Vice Chairman, Mr Sugri Inusah, the Secretary, Mr . Samuel Kwadwo Frimpong and the Women’s organiser, Mrs Victoria Owusu-Achiaw.

They asked the party not to let any issue divide them, so that they can be focused and deliver Ghanaians from this heartless NDC government which is determined to destroy businesses in Ghana.

Signed
