The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North Constituency, Alhaji Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini has disclosed that God took the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government into opposition to pave way for Ghanaians to appreciate the good things witnessed under the John Mahama led administration.

According to him, a year into office of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has clearly distinguished between a good and a bad government indicating that the difference of what was happening under the NDC and now speaks for itself.

“As a Member of Parliament, this year has not been an easy year especially because it is the year that ushered my party into opposition. During our campaign, we very were hopeful our party will still be in government for us to continue the good works we were convinced were doing to transform the lives our people and to make our country better. God being so good he decided he wanted to test this nation and our party”, he said.

He said this paved the way for the citizens to have a feel of good governance then and bad governance now indicating that it also affords the NDC an opportunity to live long and correct its mistakes and make amends.

“It is just for us to pray that we live long to correct our mistakes. Once we are in opposition, we look back and see some of the good things we were doing even though we could have done better”, he stressed.

According to him, the year 2017 was meant for most of them to learn and adjust to their rhythm as opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) indicating that they are now strategically positioned to keep government on its toes.

He commended constituents for their support in the trying times of lawmakers promising they will also live up to their mandate by ensuring that they are not left out in the distribution of the national cake.
