The chiefs and people of Gomoa Akranmang have petitioned the Omanhene of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area to de-stool Nana Yaw Egyire Ahor II, Gyasehene of the town, for gross misconducts.

They said they “no longer want him (Gyasehene A.K.A) Osebo) to continue occupying the seat based on strange behaviour exhibited after few years of installation”.

These were contained in a petition presented by Nana Yaw Arkoh II, Obaatan of Gomoa Akranmang to Obirifo Ahunako Ahor, Omanhene of Akyempim Traditional Area at Gomoa Assin.

The petitioners accused the Gyasehene of unauthorized sale of lands at Gomoa Akranmang without consent of the chiefs.

They also accused him of using the police to harass and assault the youth in the town without justification.

They accused him of indiscriminate felling of trees in the Forest Reserve and failure to render account of proceeds to the town by the Gyasehene.

They alleged that the Gyasehene was not a citizen of Gomoa Akranmang and did not qualify to be installed as sub-chief of the town.

According to the petitioners, the Gyasehene also defied the orders from the Akyempim Traditional Council and brought land guards to terrorize the residents after massive protest against his conduct.

The petitioners alleged that Nana Ahor disrupted the renovation of the durbar grounds towards and launching of education endowment fund to support needy but brilliant students of the town.

Nana Obirifo Ahunako Ankobea Ahor who received the petition assured the chiefs and people of Akranmang that the Council would ensure that the matter was investigated.

He warned them not to take the law into their hands and also avoid bloodshed and loss of lives in the town.
