Gomoa East NPP MP intensifies campaign to retain seat

Agona Swedru, Nov 23, GNA- Mr Richmond Sam Quarm, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Gomoa East, has intensified his campaign to retain the seat in the next month Parliamentary elections. The incumbent MP, who did not disclose the strategies he had adopted to defeat his opponents, said indications on the ground were that he and Nana Akufo-Addo, NPP Presidential Candidate would win massively in the Gomoa East Constituency.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Agona Swedru to highlight his campaign, Mr Quarm noted that the people in the constituency have accepted the good message of the party and were prepared to vote on December 7 to retain the party in power. He stated that the area had received its fair share of the national cake in terms of school feeding programme, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Capitation Grant, National Youth Employment Programme, and Health and Educational infrastructures. The MP said apart from these programmes, roads and potable water have been provided in all the towns and villages in the constituency, to improve the living standards of the people.

Mr Quarm noted that 11 new markets and school blocks were under construction and expressed the hope that the projects would be completed before the elections.

He further stated that these projects were being financed from his share of the MPs' Common Fund and the central government. He expressed appreciation to the people in the constituency for the love and patient shown to him and the NPP, and pledged that he would never disappoint them if they give him the nod. Dr Edward Cudjoe, NPP Member in the United State of America (USA), who has arrived to assist in the campaign, said there was the need for Ghanaians to vote for Nana Akufo-Addo to continue the good work President J.A. Kufuor had done for the past eight years. He said Ghanaians living outside the country had seen the dramatic changes in the economy, roads, education, health and other sectors which indicated that the government had managed the resources judiciously. Dr Cudjoe called on the electorate in the Gomoa East to vote for Mr Quarm also to continue the work he started four years ago to improve their living conditions.
