Gomoa West MP Supports constituents with projects

Gomoa Nkran(C/R), July 5, GNA - The Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa West, Mr Francis Kojo Arthur, has undertaken a number of projects with his share of the MPs ommon fund to promote education and sanitation in the area.

He said he had spent GHc30,000 on rehabilitating three kindergarten blocks at Gomoa Nkran, Gomoa Osedze and Gomoa Nkoransa and an early childhood development centre at Gomoa Nduem. Mr Arthur led a team of newsmen to inspect some of the projects on Sunday.

Among the projects was a 14-seater KVIP at Gomoa Abaasa number 2 whIch was being funded with his share of the Highly Indebted Poor Country (HIPC) fund. The MP also led the team to Gomoa Abamkrom to inspect Community-based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compound which was being constructed with his share of the National Health Insurance Fund.

He said he was waiting for his next allocation of the funds to begin work on primary school blocks at Gomoa Lefleku and Gomoa Asempanyin. Mr Arthur said the projects were aside those being provided by the District Assembly in the constituency. He said he had awarded scholarships to 17 students to pursue secondary education, five others for tertiary education, and three at nursing training schools.

The MP said he was also sponsoring five girls who were currently undergoing training in dressmaking. Mr Arthur assured the constituents that he would continue to serve them To the best of his ability and urged them to rally behind him. He expressed concern about the waning communal spirit of the people and appealed to the traditional authorities, assembly members and unit committees to help to rekindle the spirit for the acceleration of the area's development.
