Apam (C/R), Oct. 13, GNA - Mr Joe Kingsley Hackman, MP for Gomoa West, has called on his constituents to bury their differences, show love, live in peace and rekindle their communal spirit to enable them to implement more development projects.

Speaking to the GNA at Apam, Mr Hackman said designs for a proposed football field; a town hall and a library complex had been completed and called on the chiefs and the people for land for the construction to commence.

The MP said plans were far advance for the unemployed youth to benefit from an "Urban Poverty Reduction Project," for skill training and access to micro finance to start their own businesses such as grass cutter and snail rearing and mushroom growing. Mr Hackman called on parents to enrol their children of school going age since the government had made enough funds available for the payment of school fees adding that, over 20 million cedis of his share of the MP's common fund had been used to sponsor 12 bright but needy students studying at the University of Cape Coast, UST, Sunyani Polytechnic and some senior secondary schools.

He said the Gomoa Ankamu-Afransi road would be taken care of by the government in the 2006 budget.

The MP stated that it was his priority to portray and sell the rich cultures of Gomoa and Apam to the outside world adding that, an Apam website had already been created and was running as "www Apaaman.com". He called on citizens of the area both at home and outside to get involved in community projects to make the town a better place. The MP commended the "Sunset Youth Club of Apam" for undertaking periodic clean-up exercises at the town.
