Information Minister Mahama Ayariga says the Government has begun investigations into the Ghc144 million said to have been paid to Subah Infosolutions by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for no work done.
Speaking on Joy FM's Newsfile Saturday, the minister warned that government will punish anybody found culpable in the alleged corrupt act.
In what appears to be the latest corruption allegation that has hit the government, the Chronicle newspaper reported the alleged payment of Ghc144 million to the private company contracted in 2010 by the GRA to provide telecommunication traffic monitoring, and was paid 4million cedis every month.
Chronicle insists the company was paid for absolutely no work done.
Having received the amount through a Stanbic Bank Account number 0140002687401, the amount was again said to have been disbursed to companies said to be part of the Jospong Group of companies.
Discussing the matter on Newsfile, the Information Minister said the government will hound and hang all perpetrators involved in the alleged corruption.
Nana Akomea, former Communications Director of the NPP said the Subah rot is another clear example of the corruption that has tainted the Mahama administration.
He could only hope something will be done about it.
