Adukrom-Akuapem (E/R), Aug.15, GNA- The Minister for Trade, Industry and President's Special Initiative (PSI), Mr Alan Kyeremanteng had stated that the government had restored hope and dignity of Ghanaians to the rest of Africa.
He said successes chalked over the past three-and -half years indicated that the government was committed to the improvement of lives of Ghanaians.
Mr Kyeremanteng who was launching the Adukrom Strategic Development Programme (SDP) at Adukrom in the Eastern Region on Saturday, said in addition to the provision of social and economic infrastructure, measures had been taken to ensure that private enterprises and businesses also flourished within the context of the "Golden Age of Business".
He noted that the long-term development of the country could not be achieved without the physical development of communities and commended the chief of Adukrom for the initiative aimed at giving the community a facelift. Mr Kyeremanteng announced that his ministry was pursuing a rural enterprises development programme, which would, within the next five years, establish at least three medium sized viable industries in every district to accelerate economic development of the rural communities. The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr Yaw Osafo-Marfo, announced that HIPC funds would soon be distributed to all districts and assured the people that every district would get a substantial amount to take care of the basic needs in their communities. ..gov't was committed to the improvement of lives
