The Greater Accra Regional Student's Representative Council has expressed shock at the government's approval of ?5 billion to second cycle institutions. In a press release, the SRC said though they commend the act, they hope it was politically motivated as elections draw near.
They also commended government for aiding second cycle institutions in the three northern regions, which were closed down.
The SRC expressed concern over the disbursement of the ?5bn, hoping that proper modalities and schemes would be worked out so that the right beneficiaries enjoy it and proper accounts made.
The Ghana Muslim Academy was also commended for organising free vacation classes for 310 students in Accra. The students called on other organisations to emulate this example.
They commended the Ghana Science Association for the SSS science magazines and called on other companies and individuals to help sustain it
