Government Ministers Who Sold State Lands To Chinese Company For Kickbacks Exposed

Mediawatch Research Associates is deeply frustrated at the refusal of President Mills to discipline and sanction Alhaji Collins Dauda ,Minister for Transport and Emmanuel Buah, Deputy Minister for Energy for selling 100 acres of government lands in the Brong Ahafo and Western Region between 2010 and early 2011 to Chinese Company HuangDong Construction and Mining and pocketing over 300,000 dollars in payments ,fees and other payments which were done for paperwork and transfer of ownership. We called on the Attorney General’s department and the security agencies to investigate and stop the activities of this company ,and return all lands to the people of Ghana. Till date no action at all has been taken.

Government lands in the Asutifi District and forest reserve areas in the Brong Ahafo and the Evalue Gwira area in the Western Region been have lost .Cocoa farms which were on these state lands and are worth over 10 million Ghana cedis to the nation, have been burnt down to make way for a so called mining and housing project. As a reward for securing these lands, the Huangdong company appointed Mr Emmanuel Buah as a non executive director where he is receiving 10,000 dollars a month. Mr Collins Dauda also received three Ssangyong 4X4 vehicles. He has also been appointed as an adviser to the company and being paid 5,000 dollars a month.

Thousands of farmers, who produce cash and food crops, on government land for the benefit of the people of Ghana have quietly displaced , without any resettlement and compensation. Why should Government Minsters who have taken an oath to defend our country , protect our people and work in the interest for our people, keep behaving like slave masters, enslaving and depriving our people of what they have left, their birthright and dignity?

Mr Collins Dauda and Mr Emmanuel Buah should have been sacked ,prosecuted and made to refund all the monies. Yet they are still at post and milking the state.

President Mills when will you stop the betrayal of the Ghanaian people by these ministers?
