Government Would Partner Investors

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has stated that the government has made it a priority to partner investors who will create job opportunities for Ghanaians and also transfer technology. Adding that government has put in a number of measures in place and has invited investors to invest in the sectors.


Vice President Amissah-Arthur said this when the Italian Foreign Minister, Emma BoninoThe Italian Foreign Miniister who is in Ghana on the first leg of her three nation Africa tour including Senegal and Sierra Leone. For Ghana,paid a courtesy call on him at the Flagstaff House in Accra . Mr. Kwesi Amissah went on to state that democracy is taking root in West Africa and Ghana is playing a consolidating lead role in entrenching it the sub-region compared to some time ago when there used to be troubles in the sub region The visit is to further strengthen the bilateral, political, economic, social and international co-operation with Italy.


Vice President Amissah-Arthur recounted a number of important Italian investments in the country's energy sector.

He therefore invited more Italian investors to take advantage of the number of investment opportunities that have been created in the economy so as to come to Ghana to invest .and that government is determined to continue the creation of enabling environment for the private sector to take a commanding lead in the country's economic and infrastructural development. It is for this reason that the government is implementing the public-private partnership policy.


On her part the Italian foreign minister Madam Bonino said the purpose of her visit is to also explore other opportunities for further co-operation between the two countries. She said Italy considers Ghana a partner and together can do a lot to champion democracy, rule of law and human rights.
