Koforidua, July 30, GNA - The Eastern Regional Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Bismark Tawiah Boateng, has called on people appointed as Chief Executives or as members of Boards of Directors to public institutions to provide effective leadership to enable their institutions to render the best services to the people of Ghana.

He told the GNA in an interview that this was the only way the "Better Ghana Agenda" proclaimed by the government would be realized.

Mr Boateng said the performance of government was more often accessed by the performance of the various public institutions and the services that they rendered.

He said people appointed by the government to head such institutions needed to be selfless and dedicated to the job given them.

On the impending by Atiwa Constituency by election, Mr Boateng said the NDC would perform better this time round to the surprise of political observers in the area.

He said the regional executive of the party and that of the constituency had set in motion programmes to better package and present the party in the constituency.

Mr Boateng said the NDC was in a better position to mobilize all its resources to work in the constituency and also prevent the many rigging and harassment of the party sympathizers as happened during the 2008 election.

He said judging by the work that the government had done in the constituency within the first 19 months in office, he expected the NDC to win the seat.
