Final-year students of the 2017/2018 academic year in all public senior high schools will only pay half of their third-term fees, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed.
The slash in fees is due to the fact that the students will only spend seven instead of 14 weeks in school in the third term.
A memo from the GES ordered all Regional Directors of Education to “ensure strict compliance” to “this directive.”
The memo noted that: “In the instance where the final-year students will be asked to stay in school during the current holidays or will re-open on 16th April 2018, the fees should be adjusted to reflect the number of weeks they will be spending in school.”
