Accra, Aug. 31, GNA - Government on Tuesday sent a special message to Muslims in the country towards the celebration of Eid Ul-Fitr.
A statement signed by Mr Ahmed Mohammed Baba Jamal, Deputy Minister of Information, congratulated Muslims for successfully devoting themselves to Allah during the holy month of Ramadan as they fasted and interceded for Allah's blessings for Ghana. "On behalf of President John Evans Atta Mills, the Government and people of Ghana, we send you special greetings and wish all Muslims Baraka Da Salla," the message added.
The message praised Muslims in Ghana for their contribution to national development and urged them to continue to seek more blessings from Allah for the nation.
"There is no height this country cannot attain if we choose the path of discipline, dedication to humanity and belief in the direction of Allah," it added.
"It is important that we take pride in and continue to deepen religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence as we all ensure that religion unites us always and never divides us," the statement said. Eid-Ul-Fitr is a holiday marking the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting, which is one of the greatest religious observances in Islam. Government has declared Wednesday, August 31, which marks Eid-Ul-Fitr a Statutory Public Holiday.
