Kumasi, May 28, GNA- The President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, Reverend Dr Kojo Osei-Wusuh, has called on the Government to place much emphasis on technical and vocational education to help speed up national development.

He said the country required technically skilled professionals to fast track its manufacturing, construction and industrial base to accelerate socio-economic development.

Rev Osei-Wusuh made the call at a seminar on "Wealth Creation" in Kumasi on Saturday.

It was organised by the Centre for Community Empowerment (CeFORCE) a non-governmental organisation NGO of the Grace Baptist Church in Kumasi, to equip the participants with the skills to manage their businesses efficiently in order to generate wealth. Rev Osei-Wusuh, who is the National Director of CeFORCE, said no country where majority of the people are traders would have the capacity to develop quickly and called for a new type of education that would provide the necessary skills to attract investors in the production sector.

Dr Seth Buatsi, Dean of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Business School, who was the resource person, urged people who wanted to enter into business to be faithful, committed and honest in their dealings. He advised small-scale businessmen not to allow frustrations to kill their vision and always rely on God for direction and inspiration.
