The government has dissociated itself from the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation interdiction saga, which saw five staff members of the state-owned broadcasting house being interdicted.
The five, the Director of Television, Kofi Bucknor; Francis Sasu, Show Editor; Nana Yaw Doudu; head of Business News Department, and Solomon Ayiah, news presenter, were interdicted over the broadcast on GTV a story about Ghana Airways.
The authorities described the story as denting the reputation of the airline, as well as that of the government.
This explanation from the management of GBC, has robbed government into the scene as censoring media publications, which do not go in its favour.
But minister of Information, Nana Akomea speaking on JoyFM denied government?s involvement in the controversy.
Nana Akomea said government was worried about the developments at the national broadcasting house and has asked management of the state owned media house to thread cautiously in finding a solution to the problem.
