Ejura, (Ash), Oct. 31, GNA - The Government would soon put in place a mechanism to help identify and resolve the problems militating against the smooth and full scale production levels of the Ejura Farms Company. President John Agyekum Kufuor, who gave the assurance, said Government's commitment to intercede was only aimed at revamping the farms and to help it become very productive and more importantly, help create more job opportunities for the people.
President Kufuor gave the assurance in reaction to concerns raised by the Chiefs and people of Ejura about the continuous deteriorating state of the Ejura Farms, at a durbar held in his honour at Ejura, on Sunday as part of his six-day tour of Ashanti Region.
President Kufuor said since farming was the main occupation of the people in and around Ejura, the Government would do all it could to ensure that the sector was properly developed to enable the people to derive maximum benefit from it.
President Kufuor announced that the Ejuraman Secondary School had been selected for upgrading into a model Senior Secondary School. He said with its status as a model SSS the School would as from next year benefit from modern facilities including modern library, laboratories and blocks of classrooms.
Nana Kwaku Sarfo II, Ejurahene, appealed to the Government to assist the Ejura Township to improve upon its drainage system by placing it under the Second Phase of the Urban Five Project.
