A group calling itself Friends of Damoah, has expressed dissatisfaction about how the (P) NDC governments have treated prominent citizens of Jaman in the Brong-Ahafo region over the years.
Friends of Damoah (FOD), is worried about the disappearance of the Director for Manpower and Personnel Administration of the Ghana Armed Forces, after he raised objections to the mode of recruitment in the army.
The FOD observed that Mr. Damoah, a citizen of Jaman and others from the area, have been treated unfairly.
The group, made up mainly of youth of Jaman, has therefore called on the NDC government to address the problem or they would advise themselves.
Mr. Korang Takyie Frank, PRO for the group said in Sunyani that Colonel Damoah is a decent, law abiding citizen who only voiced his genuine concerns for the betterment of the army he has served faithfully and there is no justification for the threats on his life.
He recounted that Boakye Djan, another prominent citizen of the area and a leading member of the AFRC, was forced into exile while his brother Kyeremeh Djan was killed in 1979 over coup allegation.
Korang Takyie recalled that in 1982, the Giwa led coup was foiled through the vigilance of Jaman youth and wondered why the (P) NDC should be treating citizens of the area badly.
He called on the ruling government to create the conducive environment for colonel Damoah to return home.
