Some aggrieved groups in Cape Coast in the Central Region have filed an application for interlocutory injunction at the Cape Coast High Court seeking to restrain the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA) and their agents from allocating and using the Kotokuraba market.

The groups, Concerned Citizens of Cape Coast, Concerned Market Women of Cape Coast and Concerned Assemblymen of Cape Coast are already in court challenging the allocation of stalls at the newly built market.

Their action follows accusations of unfairness in the allocation process amidst claims that the cronies of the governing party were being favoured over the traders.

The latest move is an attempt to stop the assembly and traders from using the facility until the determination of the substantive case pending at the Cape Coast High Court.

Despite the suit, traders are still plying their business at the market, regional correspondent Maxwell Attah reported on Thursday, 3 August, 2017.
