Asante Kotoko midfielder Frank Sarfo Gyamfi has tipped Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori to be successful in South Africa after joining Premier Soccer League side Maritzburg United from Wa All Stars in a three-year deal.

Gyamfi, who also joined the Team of Choice from All Stars in 2012, terminated his contract mutually and returned to Ghana.

"I am happy for him following the opportunity he has been handed. Maritzburg are a great side with amazing supporters," Gyamfi told Goal.

"I believe that he will be a success at the club because he has risen through the ranks at All Stars, winning the Ghana Premier League title and being adjudged as the best goalkeeper during last season. He is also the first choice for Ghana currently and that shows his worth so there's no doubt that his quality is questionable.

"The only thing I wish for him is luck because since this is his first time of playing with a foreign club, there will be several difficulties but if he takes the orientations he will be given by the club's top hierarchy seriously, he will integrate with the new teammates easily."

Sarfo also believes Ofori can contact other Ghanaian players who have previously played for the club for advice.

"There have been some Ghanaians before him aside myself. Anas Mohammed and John Paintsil have all represented the club so he can seek one or two information from them and it will really help him. He's a great player and I wish him all the best."

Ofori is expected to become the first choice at Maritzburg following the departure of Namibian shot-stopper Virgil Vries.
