HIPC Initiative has benefited the country

Wenchi, (B/A) Oct. 7, GNA- Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu a Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning has emphasized that the HIPC program had brought a great improvement into the economy of the state since because some of the country's outstanding foreign debts have been written off.

Mr Agyeman-Manu announced this when he addressed a rally of NPP supporters at Wenchi on Sunday, during which the party raised funds to support its campaign programs in the Constituency.


The program also aimed at resolving any differences among NPP supporters in the area.


He said it was as a result of the HIPC that the NPP Government had been able to fund a number of projects in the country.


Mr Agyeman-Manu advised the electorate of Wenchi to vote massively for the NPP in the December elections for the Government to continue with its good plans.


Mr Joe Danquah, District Chief Executive urged NPP supporters in the district to bury differences and rally behind the NPP Parliamentary candidate to win the seat.

He advised them never to allow themselves to be divided by party politics since they all belonged to one family of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).


He said the people of Wenchi should never set any bad precedence for the area during this crucial period, since that would have adverse effect on the development of the district.


The Constituency Chairman of the party, Mr Kwame Aidoo-Boteng urged the NPP supporters to intensify their campaign and win the two Parliamentary seats in the district.


Mr Prince Oduro-Mensah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Techiman South attended the rally and gave the assurance that NPP was definitely winning this year's general elections.


Those present were the Minister of Ports, Railways and Harbour, Professor Christopher Ameyaw Akumfi, Mr. Kwadwo Yeboah Fordjour, Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of the Party and Mr. Atta Afena Brong Ahafo Regional Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).
