The former National Security Adviser, Lt Gen Joshua Hamidu on Thursday gave evidence behind closed doors to the Wuaku Commission, investigating the Dagbon crisis that led to the beheading of the Ya Na Yakubu Andani in March this year. Lt Gen Hamidu is the first witness to have requested to be allowed to give his testimony privately. He told the three member panel that he cannot make his testimony public due to the sensitive nature of the Dagbon conflict.
He also said that most of his statements would border on issues of national security. Lt Gen Hamidu has denied any involvement in an alleged plot to assassinate the late Chief of Dagbon area, saying he has not visited his hometown since he returned from exile some two years ago. He resigned his position, to as he says, allow smooth investigations into the conflict.
