Happy FM, Lakeside Marina family fun run donates to Mercy Social Centre

As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Happy FM, Ghana’s number one sports station, in collaboration with Lakeside Marina Park (LMP) has donated some items to the Mercy Social Centre at Adenta, help cater for children in the home.

This was in fulfilment of a pledge by both Happy FM and Lakeside Marina Park (LMP) to commit a percentage of proceeds from the Happy FM, Lakeside Marina Family Fun Run event to support the home.

Items donated to the Social Centre include; bags of rice, cartons of milk, cooking oil, boxes of noodles, sacks of beans, sacks of Gari and toiletries worth at over 4,500ghc.

Speaking at the donation, Isaac Degraft Danquah of Happy FM popularly known as DJ Adviser said, “As part of our commitment to positively impact people in our society, we deem it necessary to give back to society in every little way possible. This is not the first time Happy FM and Lakeside Marina Park have collaborated to make donations to the Mercy Social Centre and this will not be our last time. We thank all our sponsors and supporters for helping us make this year’s Family Fun Run such a success and we are hopeful that they will continue to do so

According to Salah Kweku Kalmoni, Director of the Lakeside Estate, “Items donated today are from Part of the proceeds raised during the 8th annual Happy FM, Lakeside Marina Park Family Fun Run held on Independence Day. Without our participants, we would not be here today giving to the Mercy Social Centre, Our sincere gratitude to all who registered, participated, sponsored and supported the Family Fun Run this year.”

The management of Mercy Social Centre, in turn, expressed their gratitude for the hand of support extended to by Happy FM and Lakeside Marina Park.

“We are humbled by this kind gesture and urge other organizations to emulate this gesture and donate to the Mercy Social Centre.”

The Happy FM, Lakeside Marina Park Family Fun Run is an annual event which happens on every 6th March with the aim of bringing families, friends and corporate organizations together to exercise, keep fit, and network on independence day.

It can be recalled that the run saw over 300 participants comprising of individuals, families, CEOs and schools. Oyeh Solomon won the Fastest Man; Marzena Nohakohsw won Fastest Woman. Among the winners were Al – Rayan International School for the Fastest School Team (Senior Category) and Mercy Social Centre for the Fastest School Team (Junior Category). Mohammed Samhoudy won Fastest Child Male; Sara Samhoudy won Fastest Child Female ; George Amani won Fastest Teenager Male; Mohammed R. Byrouthy won Fastest Over 60; David Adanu won Fast 10km Runner and Mohammed Elshawadfi won Fastest Family. The Fastest CEO award went to Dr Prince Ayiku.
