Dr Kwabena Duffuor
Former Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Duffuor has counseled Ghanaian youth to give off their best and must not allow pecuniary gains to sway their focus.
The accomplished business honcho noted “humility” is the ultimate key to success, hence the youth must be ready to learn from their elders because they have the rich experience to guide the young ones.
Dr Duffuor, who is the founder of the HODA Group comprising uniBank, uniSecurities, Star Assurance, Excellence in Broadcasting Network which is made up of over eight media houses including Starr FM, Kasapa FM, Ultimate FM, Agoo FM, Empire FM, GhOne TV and the Daily Heritage newspaper, said the youth must not abandon God in their endeavors.
“Hard work pays,” the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana told Kasapa FM after President John Mahama conferred the Companion of the Order of the Volta award on him in Accra Friday.
He advised the youth to be selfless and must not work with the aim of winning awards because “God has a way of exposing you to the world irrespective of where you find yourself.”
“Work hard. Keep your eyes on God. Be humble. Hard work pays. Wherever you find yourself brighten that corner. God will expose you. Don’t force yourself. God will elevate you,” Dr Duffuor added.
Dr Duffuor was honoured with 27 other prominent Ghanaians including a former Justice of the Supreme Court Justice Samuel Dateh-Baah, Speaker of Parliament, Doe Adjaho, former Finance Minister, Dr. Kwesi Botchwey and Agogohene, Nana Akuako Sarpong.
Others are Lt. Gen. Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd), former Chief of Staff Henry Martey Newman, Nana Ato Dadzie, and Ato Ahwoi.
