It was an emotional scene as some street hawkers at the Legon Okponglo halted sales to mourn their colleague who was knocked down by a speeding vehicle exactly a week ago.
The hawkers were seen in mourning clothes in honour of the late Ebenezer Ayetey who sold newspapers for living.
CEO of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Mohammed Adjei Sowah has cautioned against the practice of hawking in the streets due to risk factors yet all efforts have proven futile as hawkers continuously ply their trade.
