Accra, Feb 20, GNA - The West Africa International Magazine (WAIM) in collaboration with the West Africa Nobles forum have honoured Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, Chief Executive Officer of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for his meritorious services in health care delivery.

Prof. Frimpong-Boateng received a plaque and a certificate as his award at a short ceremony in Accra on Friday.

The award is also in recognition of his status as an eminent West African "who believes in honesty, integrity and accountability", Mr Festus Hamenu, a representative of the award organizers said. The Nobles International Award is given to people who have made it to the top in their chosen career through "righteous means" and a source of inspiration to the youth.

According to Mr Hamenu, who was accompanied by Mr Emmanuel Dzewu, Assistant Editor of the WAIM who is also a former Features Editor of the Ghanaian Times, the actual award ceremony was held in Lome, Togo in November last year during the Nobles International Award lecture where other Ghanaians were also honoured.

He mentioned Dr Edward Mahama, leader of the People's National Convention (PNC), Mr Ernest Bediako Sarpong, Chief Executive Officer of Ernest Chemists and Mrs Grace Obeng, Managing Director of FC Skin and Beauty Klinik as other distinguished personalities who received the award.

He said Prof. Frimpong-Boateng could not attend that ceremony that was why "the organizers thought it wise to bring it to him". Prof. Frimpong-Boateng thanked the donors for the honour.
