Gomoa Pamfokrom, (C/R), Sept. 14, GNA - The Headmistress of Gomoa Pamfokrom Women's Training Institute, Madam Rebecca Ampa-Korsah, has commended the government for connecting the institute to the national electricity grid as promised by the Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama during his recent visit to the area.

He made the commendation after conducting newsmen round several on- going projects aimed at improving the conditions at the institute, last Thursday.

The project included classrooms and dormitories.

Mad. Ampah-Korsah said the institute also needed living quarters to resolve the acute accommodation problem facing teachers of the institute, some of whom are currently sharing the same dormitory with students.

The headmistress appealed to the government to endeavour to complete the classroom and dormitory blocks to pave the way for the enrolment more students.

She regretted that lack of classrooms and dormitory was hampering the implementation of the City and Guild and dressmaking programmes approved for the Institute.

Similarly, the Institute is finding it difficult to implement the President Special Initiative of vocational education for interested young girls.

She gave assurance that as soon a the classroom and dormitory has completed, management will fulfil its pat of the Initiative by enrolling 120 additional students in the school.

Mad. Ampa-Korsah expressed the hope that government would take the request of the management into consideration and ensure speedy completion of the two important projects in fulfilment of its promise to help the girl-child to acquire the vocation.
