The Central Regional Director of Health Services Dr.. Elias K. Sory, has suggested a quarterly meeting of Traditional rulers and medical officers and other health workers operating within their jurisdiction, to discuss health issues. He said such interactions will enable the people to point out the shortcomings of health workers at the right time to promote excellent health delivery programmes at all times. Dr.. Sory was addressing a cross-section of Efutu citizens, doctors, nurses and Paramedical staff of the Winneba Government Hospital at a function at which medical equipment and assorted drugs worth 20 million cedis were presented to the hospital. The gifts were donated by some citizens of Winneba, resident in the United States following an appeal made to them to support the hospital. Dr.. Sory said medical doctors and auxiliary staff are bound to make mistakes at all times in the course of their duties, and the people should be bold to point out such faults. He advised parents to send their children under six years to immunization centres on the eighth of next month and December 13 for inoculation against poliomyelitis.
