Health Workers Urged To Accept Rural Postings

Mon, 13 Oct 1997 Source: --

Kintampo (Brong Ahafo Region), 10 Oct. Dr S.O. Sackey, a director of the Disease Control Unit of the Ministry of Health, has urged health workers to accept posting to the rural areas without pre-conditions. He said their training was made possible through the sweat and toil of the people, so they should be prepared to work in areas where their services are needed most. Dr Sackey said this when he addressed the passing-out ceremony of 27 technical officers of the Community Health Unit at the Kintampo Rural Health Training School yesterday. He said the success of the health delivery programme of the government rests on health workers and they should ensure that the people enjoy improved health services. Dr S.A. Akor, Director of the Institute, said products of the school should have the courage to ensure sound health practices in the communities they serve.
