Health risk alert: Relatives use tricycle to convey corpse from mortuary

A commercial tricycle popularly known in Ghana as ‘Mahama Candoo’ has been seen at the Upper East Regional Hospital conveying a corpse from the mortuary to an unknown destination.

This incident happened on Friday.

An eye-witness who narrated the unfortunate incident to our reporter Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen,said “the reason behind such moves still beats my imagination".

"I have not seen such thing before, how can someone use a commercial vehicle that is mainly used to convey passengers across the municipality to convey corpse for burial? I saw two of the Candoo’s that means it has been happening.”

This act poses health risk to passengers at this crucial moment the country is battling with Covid19.It is there prudent for authorities to act swiftly to arrest the situation to avoid an outbreak of a disease in the region since majority of residents commute on daily with tricycles daily.
