Hearts of Oak captain Thomas Abbey has admitted that they have to focus more on winning the FA Cup than the Ghana Premier League title in order to end their seven-season trophyless run.

A second-half penalty converted by centre-back Vincent Atinga after substitute Patrick Razak was brought down in the box, was enough for Frank Nuttall's men to defeated Danbort FC in the quarterfinals of the competition and set a date with Medeama in the semis.

"This game was difficult for us because when we played against Tema Youth in the league game, they were here watching us so they knew the key players and what they can do so they gave tough time and it was an Accra derby too," Abbey told GTV.

"I think for now we know our position [in both the Premier League and FA Cup] so we will target one side. The FA Cup can favour us because there are more obstacles in the league. So our conscious is the FA Cup trophy which we've not won in 13 years. We're only two games away to win it.

"It's possible also for me to win the topscorer in the league [after scoring 12 goals] so I'm reading for it," he added.

In the other semi-final game, the winner between Asante Kotoko and Nea Salemina will lock horns with Wa All Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Hearts will switch their attention to Ghana Premier League as they face rivals Asante Kotoko in the matchday 23 outstanding game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
