Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak has strongly denied circulating allegations involving their goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, describing the reports as false and defamatory.
In an official club statement dated March 28, 2026, the Phobians said they had become aware of “spurious allegations” making the rounds online about the shot-stopper, who is currently on national duty with the Ghana national football team.
The club emphasised that after engaging directly with the Ghana Football Association, both parties confirmed there is “absolutely no truth” to the claims.
“Hearts of Oak wishes to categorically state that these reports are entirely false, misleading, and defamatory,” the statement read.
The club further revealed that it has reported those responsible for spreading the alleged misinformation, including the content creator, to law enforcement and relevant regulatory bodies for investigation and possible sanctions.
Management also called on supporters and the general public to remain calm and disregard the reports, assuring that Asare remains in excellent condition and unaffected by the claims.
“He is fully focused and not in any way impacted by these baseless allegations,” the club added.
Accra Hearts of Oak reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the integrity and reputation of its players and the club as a whole.
