Helicopter Crash: Haruna Iddrisu takes over sponsorship of 47 students from Dr Murtala

The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has pledged to take over the sponsorship of 47 medical students who were previously supported by the late Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.

He made this announcement on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, when the students paid glowing tribute to the late Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology during the Third Day Funeral Rites (Adua) in Tamale, according to a report by CitiNewsroom.

The students described the late MP as a dedicated leader who consistently prioritised education and the welfare of young people. They also appealed to the government, benevolent organisations, and individuals to continue supporting them.
