Vice Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has called on residents of Tumu Zongo in the Sissala East district to lend him their support in order to chase away President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC.

According to him, the president he described as the driver of Ghana, is leading the country astray and the consequence will be disastrous if they [residents] as passengers sit on the fence and allow him to continue go the direction he is moving.

“President Mahama and his NDC government are driving Ghanaians into the bush. The soup being prepared has gone sour and we will require a new cook to prepare fresh soup for the people” he stated

He disclosed that Ghana under the erstwhile Kufuor administration spent 20 billion cedis to bring Metro Mass Transit (MMT), Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme, subsidized fertilizer, the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and other pro poor policies to better the lives of Ghanaians.

Comparatively, he observed that the current government has contracted 240 billion Ghana cedis in loans and revenue generated through taxes but have nothing show for.

Dr Bawumia is therefore appealing to the electorate to vote Akufo-Addo in order to change the country which is currently in disarray as a result of the poor management by the current government.

“If you vote for NPP, I will swear with the Qur’an whilst Akufo-Addo does so with the bible and this blend of Christian-Muslim is what Ghana needs to develop”
