Ghanaians have been asked to help the Ghana Police Service with information on shady activities going on in their communities.
The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says if the police are not given any information, they will not be able to fully fight crimes in the country.
The minister was reacting to the spate of kidnapping and murder cases in the country.
Ghana keeps recording cases of murder and kidnapping; increasing insecurity in the country and making Ghanaians question whether the security services are really doing their work.
However, speaking on Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said without the help and corporation of the General Public, the police service cannot do their work.
“Government has tasked the security agencies to be up and doing to resolve these matters. The police also needs corporation from the general public; giving out information where necessary. While we continue to encourage the security agencies we need to also help in giving them information. The security has been well equipped…we need to ensure that people still have confidence in the security agencies” he opined.
