Here is when NPP’s National Delegates Conference will be held

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has set Saturday, September 19, 2026, for its National Delegates Conference, where delegates will elect new national officers of the party.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the party said the date was approved by the National Council following a proposal by the National Executive Committee (NEC) during meetings held on June 25, 2026.

According to the party, the conference will be held in accordance with Article 10(1) of the NPP Constitution, which mandates the election of national officers by delegates.

"The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has fixed Saturday, September 19, 2026, as the date for its National Delegates Conference, at which delegates will, among other matters, elect National Officers of the Party pursuant to Article 10(1) of the Party Constitution," the statement said.

Ahead of the conference, the party has invited members and other stakeholders to submit proposals for amendments to its constitution.

The NPP said all amendment proposals should be submitted to the Office of the General Secretary at the party's national headquarters or sent electronically to nppconstitutionalamendment@gmail.com by Friday, July 17, 2026.

It explained that the invitation for constitutional amendment proposals is in line with Article 19(2) of the party's Constitution.

The party encouraged members and stakeholders to actively participate in the review process, describing it as an opportunity to strengthen its structures, deepen internal democratic practices and improve governance.

The NPP reaffirmed its commitment to constitutionalism, internal democracy and the rule of law as it prepares for the National Delegates Conference in September.
