One person died and two injured when soldiers exchanged gunfire with armed robbers near Shai Hills in the early hours of Wednesday 23 June.
The dead was believed to be a member of the gang, while the injured, an military Captain and a civilian driver, who was a victim, were rushed for medical treatment.
Their conditions were said to be stable.
The Chronicle?s investigations revealed that the gunmen established a roadblock on a bridge between Shai Hills and Doryumu, and began harassing motorists.
Monies and valuables were taken at gunpoint.
Soldiers from the Army Recruits Training School at Shai Hills responded to a distress call, but were met with gunfire from the robbers.
The military returned fire and when the action subsided one of the armed robbers was found dead in a nearby stream.
Identities of the military officer and the Kia truck driver are being withheld.

The Chronicle first noticed their activities sometime last year when on the Tema-Akosombo highway, around Shai Hills the robbers blocked the road and robbed commuters.
One Emmanuel Lartey, brother of Lt. Col. Gbevlo Lartey, former Commanding Officer of the 64 Infantry Regiment, was shot in the process.
The incident was presumed as an assassination attempt but The Chronicle?s in-depth investigations uncovered that he was the victim of highway robbery.
Twenty-eight days later, gunmen blocked the Tema-Aflao highway on a bridge and killed a driver and followed the next 28th day with an ambush of a police patrol vehicle near Asikuma on the Tema-Ho road.
