The former Christ Apostolic Church International Chairman, Apostle Dr. Stephen Kwame Amoani, has shared his admiration for the New Patriotic Party’s Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In an exclusive video shared with MyNewsGh, Dr. Amoani recalled his first encounter with Dr. Bawumia in 2015 during a courtesy visit.
At that time, Bawumia had no intentions of running for president, yet Dr. Amoani recognized a special quality in him.
“Even though he had no presidential ambitions then, I saw something in him that was unique: his character, his calm demeanour, and his genuine concern for people.
“Dr. Bawumia is a man of compassion, and this is something that cannot be faked. His political tolerance and respect for people, regardless of their background or beliefs, is unmatched,” he noted.
A key point of contention in the political landscape has been the criticism suggesting that Bawumia’s engagement with the Christian community is a mere strategic move to secure votes.
Dr. Amoani was quick to defend Bawumia, affirming that his connection with the Christian community runs deeper than political ambition.
“I’ve been in prayerful fellowship with Dr. Bawumia for years now, and I can confidently tell you that his rapport with Christians is genuine. This is not a strategy; it’s a reflection of his true character,” he said.
He described Bawumia as a charismatic personality who has consistently shown a deep understanding of the nation’s needs.
“He’s someone who has the ability to unite us all. His leadership is exactly what Ghana needs at this moment,” Dr. Amoani asserted.
