Holy Trinity Clinic, a One-Stop Medical Centre in Accra has commissioned a third Pharmacy Unit at a ceremony at its premises at North Kaneshie in Accra.
It is to provide satisfactory service to patients through improved customer oriented services by a private healthcare institution.
Mrs. Eniton Gavu, Chairman of the Pharmacy Council who performed the cutting of sod and unveiling of plaque to mark the commissioning noted that the nation would meet enormous challenges as it strives to improve quality of care in our hospitals and clinics.
She said financing healthcare remains a major hurdle facing the Government as cost continues to rise whilst individuals ability to pay diminishes.
She congratulated the management of Holy Trinity Clinic for the giant stride in opening a third Pharmacy Unit. Patients can now receive all their prescribed medications on its premises at affordable prices with a shorter waiting time and supervised by registered and approved professionals.
A team of three competent Registered Pharmacists, one for each unit, supports the medical team.
The system also affords each of the pharmacists the opportunity to spend more time counselling patients on the appropriate use of prescribed medication while reducing the average waiting time of patients.
Mrs. Gavu said the Pharmacy Council is to come out with a policy on the training of all auxiliary Pharmacy Staff to ensure that all levels of Pharmaceutical services are restricted to only trained personnel.
"Our goal is to make easy access to excellent Pharmacare a pleasant reality to all Ghanaians," she said.
The Director General of the Clinic, Dr. Felix Anyah said the corporate aim of the institution is for satisfied patient turn-around time of 30 minutes, saying, "It is for this qualitative reason that we are opening two more pharmacy outlets to serve only our patients".
The clinic, he said, has one well stocked pharmacy that serves 350 to 500 patients within 24 hours with as many as seven doctors consulting at the same time.
The clinic has among other services, family health, skin, ENT, psychiatry, clinical psychology, surgery, obstetric and gynaecology, dental unit with 2 dental surgeons and an x-ray department.
