On August 16th, 2014, God the Father in his love and mercy, joined together Mr. Ishmael Appiah Gyau and Ms. Marian Sarfo Afari in the sacrament of holy matrimony.
This bond and covenant of marriage as established by God in creation, took place at St. Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church on West Kemper Road in Forest Park, a suburb of Cincinnati in Ohio, USA.
The Rev. Father John Amankwaa, acting for God, who consecrated the covenant of marriage was ably assisted by Rev. Fr. Francis Tando, Rev. Fr. Alex Nkansah, Rev. Fr. Mathew Kumi, Rev. Fr. John Forkuo and Rev. Fr. Eric Awua-Gyamfi.
This historical wedding, witnessed by almost the entire thousands of Ghanaians in the greater Cincinnati metro area has become and remained the talk of the town. The reception party and dinner dance at the prestigious Atrium Hotel banquet hall was filled to capacity with no room for standing. Revelers danced all night till the wee hours of the next day, singing glorious songs to God and shouting ayefrooo dondo, ye ma mo awareso.
