The Very Reverend Professor Emmanuel Komla Gbordzoe, former Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC), has described homosexuality as sexual pollution and it must not be encouraged.

He said God frowns upon such devilish act and the silence of the people only means encouraging it to persist, which he said was punishable by hellfire on the day of judgement.

The Very Rev. Prof Gbordzoe was speaking at the end of the Global Prayer Week celebration of the El-Shaddai temple of the church, at Ashaiman Newtown near Tema on Sunday.

The week, which was on the theme “Anointing for Battle” was set aside by the church to pray for the social wellbeing of families and also pray for the socio-economic development of the nation as well as peace and unity.

The Very Rev. Prof Gbordzoe urged the government not to entertain pressure from the Western Countries to accept homosexuality under the guise of human rights to destroy the country’s culture.

“Any Government that accepts this alien practice and encourages it should be looked at with an evil eye’’, the former Moderator added.

Prof Mike Ocquaye, Speaker of Parliament recently warned that Ghana would not countenance the aggressive push by the Western Countries to accept same sex marriage.

He even vowed to resign rather than to preside over “Gay Debate” in Parliament of which he received teeming praise and support from a large section of the population.

The Christian Council of Ghana had also been avowed denouncers of homosexuality calling it a threat to Africa’s social set up and will stop any move to legalise it.

The Rev. Michael Kofi Akiti, Tema Presbytery Clerk of the church tasked the youth to desist from drug abuse such as cocaine, heroin and tramadol, which he said could danger their health.

He urged the youth also to desist from the get-rich-quick attitude and be addicted to the word of God for them to succeed.
