The Most Reverend Joseph Osei-Bonsu, president of the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference has stated that all homosexuals and lesbians are not bound for heaven.

According to him, homosexuality is not natural and claims that some people are born gays or lesbians is a political argument by gay rights activists to defend the act.

“The Bible tells us completely in the book of Romans chapter 1 from verse 6 downwards that those who practice and those who endorse same-sex marriage politically, religiously or whatever are all guilty before God.

“Homosexuals, lesbians, liars, and sex abusers are not going to go to Heaven and the Bible categorically says that. It is no man saying that or no Bishop saying they will not go to heaven, it is the Bible that says that, so they will not go to heaven,” Rev. Osei-Bonsu told host of Morning Starr Nii Arday Clegg Monday on Starr 103.5FM.

Homosexuality is not allowed in several African countries and other European states but the Supreme Court of the United States of America recently declared same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states.

Ghana’s laws are, however, silent on homosexuality but people caught in the act are brutalized and humiliated by the society which is completely against it.
