Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong formally joined the campaign of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
The move, seen as a significant boost for the Bawumia campaign, was part of the flagbearer's three-day engagement of party faithful in the NPP stronghold of Ashanti Region.
The Assin Central MP, who competed closely for the flagbearership with Bawumia, was one of the NPP bigwigs who accompanied Bawumia to Suame on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
GhanaWeb checks also show that he was part of other stakeholder engagements held by the Bawumia campaign.
Later in the day, Agyapong shared snippets of his involvement in the campaign on his official X page.
"#HopeIsNotLost," he captioned one of the videos that showed his arrival to a mammoth rally as shared by Net2 TV, a TV channel he owns.
Also, present at the event were the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, alias Chairman Wontumi, NPP National Chairman Stephen Ntim, Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, and the Vice President himself.
