Suhum, Dec. 09, GNA - The Suhum Magistrate's Court presided over by Miss Kokuvie-Tay, on Wednesday sentenced the Managing Director of Silver Spoon Hotel at Suhum to a fine of GH¢ 100 for committing environmental offence. In default, she would face three months imprisonment in hard labour. The convict, Abena Anoba, charged with spillage of offensive effluen= t from septic tank into a public way pleaded guilty. He said in the course of the inspection, they detected that a septic= tank serving the hotel facilities had serious structure defects leaking a= nd spilling the effluent into public way. She was therefore cautioned to remedy the situation to forestall an outbreak of cholera but failed and was therefore issued with summons.
