Parliament will sit on Tuesday, January 14 to discuss the state of emergency imposed on the Dagbon Traditional Area.

A statement issued by Mr K.E.K. Tachie said the Speaker was recalling Parliament from recess to sit on Tuesday at 1000 hours "to discharge the responsibility imposed on it ...in relation to the Dagbon Traditional Area of the Northern Region."

A state of emergency was imposed on the Dagbon Traditional Area after fighting between the two gates in the Yendi Skin dispute claimed some 30 lives including the Ya-Naa.

Parliament has at the end of every period of the state of emergency met to renew it after submissions by the Minister of the Interior.
