Accra, July 11, GNA - Parliament would from next Tuesday extend its sittings to enable it to clear a backlog of businesses referred to committees for consideration before the House rises at the end of July. Some of the businesses under consideration are the Juvenile Justice Bill; Labour Bill; Financial Administration Bill; Local Government and the National Health Insurance Bill. Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, the Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, announced these when he presented the Business Statement for the eleventh week, ending July 18, 2003. He said the motion for the adoption of the report of the Committee of the Whole on the Formula for the Distribution of the Proceeds of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) for the year 2003 would be moved on Wednesday. Mr Enoch T. Mensah NDC MP for Ningo Prampram, would on Thursday ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development to list the group and persons, who attended public hearings on the creation of new districts in the Greater Accra Region.
